Smart Charge has an intelligent charging technology: the required amount of charge is automatically applied on the basis of the condition of the battery and the charging. A fully automated process, consisting of seven stages:
Sulfating reduction: Loads the battery in a pulsating manner to break up existing lead sulfate crystals
Soft start: Slow charging structure with limited charge current until the voltage rises to 12V
Main stage: The battery is charged to 80% with a higher charge current
Absorption: The battery is charged to 100% with a lesser charge current
Battery Test: smart charge conducts an automatic discharge test. Should the battery need to be loaded, the overhaul is selected, it is completely loaded and then it goes into the maintenance phase
Overhaul: An additional charging begins to restore deeply discharged batteries
Float: The battery is in a fully charged state (float)
